ABOUT J-NINA

About Jeannina Arntzen Adams...

Drawing, painting and creating are interests that I’ve had since I was very young. In fourth grade, I’d finish assignments and use the remaining time in class drawing objects over and over. I remember thoroughly enjoying this experience – it was as though time stopped and everything around me disappeared.

Because this form of expression was so natural for me, it took a while to understand and accept that I’ve been blessed with a gift. I began painting on clothes in my late teens and soon started fulfilling requests from people. It’s exciting to pursue my dream of making my designs available to anyone around the world.

Enjoy these inspired designs and stay tuned for unreleased collections. Spreading happiness and joy through inspiration…one design at a time!

About J-Nina Designs...

Hand painted designs ensure that every one is its own unique piece of art. No two are the same - even if they are of the same design.

The Collections…
People of the World
This collection was created when I was in my late teens and has been popular ever since. The inspiration is to celebrate the similarities and differences in each of us…all around the world. I have always been excited about my mixed background; Mexican, German & Norwegian. Other people’s backgrounds have been intriguing to me as well. Now living in a Miami suburb, I am immersed in rich culture and accents that really celebrate what this series is about. Look for continued expansion of this collection.

Inspired Words
This collection speaks for itself. Colorful backgrounds with inspiring and uplifting words make this collection in demand for all ages. You will see new designs regularly and in different languages.

Flags of the World
This collection was initially inspired following the 9/11 tragedy in New York. The day after these events took place, I was inspired to paint a simple flag of the United States with the following text: “September 11, 2001”. It was truly an Alleluia experience…sat down, took out my paints, picked a sweatshirt and created it first time through. It’s a piece that has deep meaning every time I look at it. It brings me back to 9/11 and the attempted attack on our freedom and values. I used the same flag and added the words ‘Faith, Hope, Courage & Love’ as a symbol of 9/11 that you see in this collection. The flag with the Pledge of Allegiance was inspired to honor the symbol of the United States. Look for more designs in this collection, including flags from countries around the world.

Spirit Filled
The ‘Spirit Filled’ collection was first inspired by the fruits of the vine. I love these individual words and the multiple meanings of each of them. Look for exciting new designs in this collection including crystal embellishments combined with hand painting.

About the crystals

I offer some of my designs embellished with Swarovski Crystals.  The response has been extremely favorable.  The crystals are beautiful and add just enough ‘bling’ to make any design pop.  They are heat-set onto the fabric which makes them permanent as long as you take care of the garment.  Some designs embellished with Swarovski Crystals will be sold at a higher price because of the additional cost of the crystals, as well as additional time to individually hand-set every one.

Garment Care
Basically, it’s best to protect your crystal embellished garment in the wash by turning the garment inside out and/or placing it in a fabric bag on gentle cycle.  This reduces the chance of scratching, chipping or grabbing off the crystals by the action of the machine.  You can air dry or machine dry the garment on low heat.  If you want to iron it, just turn it inside out.  Avoid dry cleaning because it’s possible some of the chemicals in dry cleaning will dissolve the glue that attaches the crystal to the fabric.

Not for Children Age 12 or Under
Unfortunately, I’m not able to sell any garments with Swarovski Crystals to children under the age of 12 per the CPSIA law regarding lead content in children’s products.  Swarovski Crystals have tested safe from any kind of lead exposure, however until they are officially exempt from this law look for acrylic crystals in some of my kids designs.

As obvious as this sounds, if you purchase a design embellished with Swarovski Crystals, the crystals are intended for external decoration only, ages of 13 and up.  Please don’t attempt to ingest the crystals…just enjoy wearing them!
